NHS COVID Vaccination

COVID-19 is a respiratory illness primarily transmitted through respiratory droplets, aerosols, and direct contact with infected individuals. The symptoms of COVID-19 can vary, but common signs include:

  • A high temperature or chills
  • A new, continuous cough (coughing for more than an hour or having three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours)
  • A sore throat
  • Loss or change in sense of smell or taste

Most people will recover from the initial symptoms within a few days to weeks, with a full recovery usually happening within 12 weeks. However, some individuals may experience prolonged symptoms or become more seriously ill.

While the protection from vaccines may decrease over time, booster doses are available to enhance your immune system's response and offer ongoing protection against COVID-19. A booster shot can help prevent severe illness and reduce the risk of hospitalization if you contract the virus.
